So along comes Sony Japan with an announcement today about new PSP bundles for the holiday season. We assumed these would be PSP go bundles. We were wrong. The new bundles are for the PSP-3000. Sony Japan will release limited time Piano Black, Pearl White, Vibrant Blue, and Radiant Red Value Pack bundles on December 3. Each bundle includes a PSP-3000 unit, a 4 gigabyte Memory Stick, and such accessories as an original cloth and a pouch. All that can be yours for 19,800 yen. This is the PSP-3000's pre-price drop asking price. The system now runs 16,800 yen on its own. Joining the Value Packs will be a lower price for the system's current New Hunters Pack bundle. This bundle combines a standard Vibrant Blue PSP-3000 with the PSP the Best budget version of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Pricing for this will be 18,500 yen. A release is set for December 10. We're not sure why PSP go doesn't feature into any of these plans. Perhaps Sony expects the system to sell on its own merits.
